"Percy Jackson meets Twilight"

"A fast paced book that will grab a reader from the beginning and draw them in, and will just not let go until the very end." - Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK

Legacy Kore is an average seventeen year old with your basic insane crush on the hottest guy in school... rather Adin Shepard was the hottest guy in school before he graduated a couple of weeks ago. Now it's summer vacation and she's not sure when she'll get to see him again. Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party. Cue saliva glands--it's time to drool.

But her giddiness is cut short when her guardian delivers an emotional blow, telling Legacy her mother hadn't died when she was baby, but that she'd left for Legacy's protection all those years ago. After the initial shock, she expects some story about how her mother was in the Witness Protection Program or something else just as crazy, but when she's told that her mother is a Greek Goddess and that Legacy is changing into one too, she thinks her guardian needs a trip to a mental hospital. Legacy a goddess? Um, yeah. Right. And her BFF is the Easter
Bunny.

While trying to make sense out of something that was impossible to believe, Adin asks Legacy out on a date. She is thrilled that her fantasy might become a reality, but when she meets the new guy in town, River, she discovers everything isn't always as it seems, and the legacy she wants just might not be the legacy she is destined to have.

I blindly pick books on my Kindle. Literally, just flip the screen and whatever opens I read. A one-click persona, I should be amazed I don't get more ehe reads.
In a town where gods and goddess are no different than learning ABCs, Legacy is only made aware that on her 18th birthday she will ascend to a goddess like her mother, who hadn't died but left to keep her child safe.
Legacy can't piece together apparently common knowledge without someone spelling it out for her. (Was she stone for 17 years?)
For a story with an interesting plot, it may be a hit for high schoolers who can't tell decent writing from text slang, but it seriously lacks in the grammar and punctuation. The villains could be a psychosis with how little we see of them.
This book has sat on my Kindle since 2013, and sadly I wish I hadn't wasted my time this morning. The plot and creativity are shelved in place of a boy and faux love. Teens will love it.

Goddess Legacy Goddess Series Book 1 Young Adult / New Adult Series eBook MW Muse Mandy Harbin Reviews

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved the concept of the story, having modern day lives/setting for mythological Greek Gods/Goddesses. It makes for a very unique story. That being said I had a terrible time getting thru the book. The seesawing back and forth between the 1st and 3rd POV's was extremely confusing along with the grammatical errors made it difficult to keep reading and a struggle to turn every page. Also the way the YA's talked was somewhat unrealistic in my opinion. Most young men find it extremely difficult to say both "I'm sorry/I love you". I would be hesitant to purchase another of this series.
It's probably me, but I start to hate books dragging on aimlessly into feelings, rainbows of emotions, clothes description, and not much action, so if I want to know what's really going to happen to the heroes, I'll have to buy the second and third book.
I don't mind the series where one hero is dealt with in book 1 and friends or siblings dealt with in the following books, and when we learned to appreciate an author's writing style and sensibility we fall for more of her work.

Past the first boring 30% of the book, a story starts to emerge, and we learn we deal not with mere humans like you and me but gods and goddesses incarnated for some obscure reason as to change their previous fate... For young adults, it's okay, innocent story enough, romantic, dwelling in every body sensation of the girl/goddess, who has never been kissed and has determined to let us know all the scoop about it. So, if you've never been kissed before, you're in for a real treat!
I think that the idea of having gods perpetually cloning themselves is quite an original idea. It is not a simple cloning. Reproducing a god in one's own image comes in various shades and differences which sometimes, I found hard to follow but intriguing as a concept.
What is also fascinating is that, although, these gods in making, have been given the essence of the original god, it is up to their own free will to attain their upmost grandeur and that is not always guaranteed.
It is the first of a series of books so the last chapter has left me a bit wanting for more.
I am giving three stars because there was a quite slow introduction to the characters, in my opinion, which could have been further amplified. And as I said before, sometimes I could not really understand how these gods came into being and at times I found it quite confusing but maybe it was just me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.
Goddess Legacy
Goddess Series Book One
MW Muse

Goddess Legacy is the first book in the Goddess Series by MW Muse.
High school is over for the summer and Legacy Kore is wondering if and when she will see her high school crush, newly graduated Adin Shepard again.
Until he shows up at her surprise seventeenth birthday party - acting very friendly. It's then that she realizes that he may feel more for her than just friends.
Her excitement is short lived when after the party her guardian, Lissa informs her that her mother that she thought had died years ago, was actually still alive and in fact a Greek Goddess. And that Legacy will possibly herself ascend into a Greek Goddess on her eighteenth birthday. Emotionally wrought and exhausted from the days events Legacy goes to sleep where she begins to have vivid dreams of storms, snakes and tornado's.
Seeking solace in her best friend Calli Rhodes, Legacy confides in her what she has learned about her mother and herself.
Just when she thought her life couldn't get any stranger Adin asks her out on a date - and for a brief moment in time Legacy tries to forget everything else and live in the moment that is unfolding in front of her. Could it possible that what she has wanted for so long, is about to become her reality? Could her dream of a relationship with Adin come true? Just as this is about to happen she meets an alarming handsome young man named River Rysaor.
Turns out River knows a lot more than Legacy could imagine, and opens a whole new world to her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the Greek Mythology aspect of it. The relationship between Legacy and Adin is romantic and flirty. Although at times I found Adin to be a bit annoying at how slow he wanted to take the relationship, but in the end I respected the reasoning why and found him completely endearing. River adds an almost evil aspect to the story - yet you can't quite figure out if he himself if evil or good? I enjoyed the friendship between Calli and Legacy - it brought back memories of myself with my best friend at that age. Their relationship was real and believable. Although I don't think we know everything that there is to know about Calli yet. The only part of the story that I had an issue with was Legacy's dreams. At times they were monotonous and unnecessary. I found myself at one point putting the book down because I just could not possibly read another dream scene. With that being said and overlooked - I loved the book and can not wait for the second in the series. There are so many unanswered questions and so many things left unknown.
